PEOPLE TO PEOPLE
People-to-people is a designation used by the U.S. Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) to refer to travel to Cuba for educational exchanges that don’t involve academic study. Simply put, it’s to describe travel to Cuba that is for the purpose of learning and engaging with the people of Cuba to encourage and support the Cuban people and to promote independence from Cuban government authorities. These types of educational tours have been around since 2011 and this is a licensed tour that complies with the current regulations of travel to Cuba.
You can expect a full-time schedule (around 7-9 hours including travel time) of educational exchange activities that will encourage interaction with locals.
Commercial US flights are running now to Havana. You can check Jet Blue, American or Delta Airlines for flights into Havana from your area. Roundtrip prices range from $350 USD to $550 USD.
There is a maximum of 12 spaces on the tour. The price of $3500 is based on a minimum of 7 members registered. A $800 deposit is required to hold your place and the balance of $2700 is due 10 weeks prior to departure. Because Cuba is so popular and accommodations limited and in demand it is best to sign up as soon as you can so we can get the rooms reserved and the best accommodations available.
Five to six months prior to the tour date is the optimum time to make the deposit so accommodations and guides can be reserved. Credit cards payments will be charged an extra 3% processing fee.
